I became enchanted by the Tantric goddess of transformation, Ma Kali, many years ago when introduced to her through meditation. As an homage, I made the acrylic painting featured in this print. I remain in eternal love with the unique energy that she embodies and have depicted her here in her traditional form:

• She is a radiant ink black representing her mercurial and ever evolving nature. She has no permanent qualities. Defined color and light (and notions of good and bad) do not apply to her.

• She is voluptuous and distinctly feminine. She is the supreme generative energy.

• She dances and co-creates with the serpent of kundalini life force.

• She balances a kapala bowl of fire igniting passion, transformation, and continuous evolution.

• She severs the empirical process with her khadga (crescent sword) and obliterates ignorance and delusion.

• She is the goddess of time and witness to all things in life including birth, decay and death.

• In all of this she remains detached.
